Lockdown 2 Resilience Tips - Day 9
Set yourself a goal. It doesn’t have to be a big one. It does need to be something you really want to do, so you have the motivation to keep it up. It also needs to be a bit of a challenge, so you feel good when you achieve it. But not so big it all feels impossible, or actually is impossible.
My goal for this lockdown is to write this daily blog. It is getting me into a daily writing habit, which is something I have been wanting to do for ages, because I love writing, but have not managed to fit in. It will also hopefully help a few people, and I get a real buzz from making a positive difference to people, so that gives me real motivation.
I have made it a daily mini-blog, so it does not feel ‘too much’. And there is an end date (the end of lockdown), so I am not committing myself to something forever. I am experimenting and can review at the end of it how it went, and what I would, or would not, like to do next.
I get a daily feel-good moment every time I publish a post. And will feel fabulous if I keep it up for the four weeks. If I miss a day, I will apologise and get back to it as soon as I can (it is always good to have a plan in case of setbacks). So, if it appeals, set yourself a lockdown goal that is meaningful for you. It helps give a sense of control, purpose and achievement in uncertain times.
