Lockdown 2 Resilience Tips - Day 22
We are into the last week of the national lockdown in England. It’s been a busy news day today, finding out what tier we will be in next week and what that means.
My tip for today is to limit the amount of time spent consuming news. Clearly, we do need to know what is going on. We need to be aware of the latest rules, advice, guidance and support, so we can best look after ourselves and each other.
However, ongoing reminders of a difficult situation do not help. Swirling speculation does not help. Relentless bad news does not help. So, listen, watch, or read just enough to get the information you need, and then switch it off. Give yourself a break and do, watch or listen to something positive. You will feel better for it. Maybe experiment for a day or two and notice what a difference it makes.
