Lockdown 2 Resilience Tips - Day 21

It was a very dark morning here today, which got me thinking about lights. It is no coincidence that there are so many different festivals of light during the dark winter months. Partly to help us keep going and remind us that light days will return. Also, I think, to take advantage of the darkness to really appreciate the beauty of light.

In our house, we are lighting a large candle each evening around 5-6pm when we eat our tea (very safely of course!). It really wouldn’t work in the summer, but is lovely now, and adds a little magic to everyday. Lots of outside Christmas lights are going up already around us. They make me smile and really lift my mood. Think how you might add the beauty and joy of lights into your everyday – maybe more so this year than you have before.
